I notice a few stokie comments here but no shout out for the cafe in Clissold park. From the Finsbury Park outpost:
Sinbads, £4, ask for 'a mix' and you get an awesome plate of lebanese food.
Arsenal Cafe - The Arsenal Breakfast is a thing for real men only.
(both on blackstock rd)The bagel bakery on Seven sisters Rd at FP wastes the Brick lane one. Onion bagel with salmon and cram cheese rules.

fatbloke
I'm pretty sure they don't do crispy bacon at the Brick Lane Beigel Bake...
they do, it's called a Rabbi's Surprise

brett La Porchetta Pizzeria, Stroud Green Road, Finsbury Park.
You won't leave hungry, and everyone I've recommended it to has loved it.Except for the person who got a massive cockroach in their calzone...
My favourite London place EVER:
Diwana on Drummond Street, west side of Euston... (Veggie) Gujarati food. Various versions of Bhel Puri rock. Dosas brilliant. Paneer Muttar and Paratha... yeah baby. Don't expect to get your Abus round your waist afterwards though, seriously.

Speaking of Drummond street Ravi Kebaba it very nice too.

heh. I live on Blackstock Rd. Clearly the best place (apart from the bagel shop, which is the bollocks) is Yildiz, for a whole pile of barbecued meat and bready-goodness.
And my kitchen, which is currently serving a lovely crisp streaky bacon sandwich.

Mouse RPM, any tapas recommendations?
yeah, don't fucking do it!
la rueda in clapham is better than el rincon latina..
the lounge in balham used to be a bar but is now a tapas place run by me old mate Phil (who is a tamil from swizerland, seriously) I've not been in since it was a tapas bar, but I've heard it's OK

Ah, I'm going all misty-eyed (I used to live at 23 Riversdale Road, just off Blackstock)... Stringray on Blackstock and that amazing Italian deli towards the Highbury Corner roundabout... Wednesday nights in the The Gunners, with the landlord muting the TV every time they showed Ferguson talking his usual nonsense... good Indian food delivered from Samosa in Stoke Newington...

Is the Mexican place still on Blackstock? think its called Exquisite, used to do great deals on sundays for a fiver, and had a crazy russian waitress who used to make the best long island ice tea i've ever had.
-
• #113
The mexican is still there but I don't rate the joint as the nachos were below par. Any place that calls itself a mexican and can't serve a proper plate of nachos get struck off my list.
Anyone been to Los Guadales on Stroud Green Rd? it is Colombian which seems to be short hand for huge portions of meat and not much else. Probably not a recommendation for the veggies.
