dogsballs
markrjohnson I'm not riding to work at the moment as a blind twat in a wheeled coffin pulled out on me two weeks ago.
"Sorry mate, didn't see you"
Brand new Givi fluorescent yellow jacket, white lid, and TWO flashing white Smart LEDS.So I was a bit hard to spot.
Anyway, back to the point: I am now bionic. I have 15cm of stainless steel holding my right radius together.Apparently I got up and lamped the git on the chin. As I had a bad concussion and was unconcious for 4 hours, I don't remember this part (shame).
So at the moment I don't ride, walk, or anything really.
Just shout at the kids to get me another beer.Toodle pip.
bad luck dude, bones heal quick though, hope nothing is too fubar!
unfortunately riding in london we know this can happen to any of us. also one of my pet gripes about numpty cyclists who think they are 'safe' riding to work as long as they have all the flouro kit. but they will learn. not directed at u mrj!
I was wearing fluoro gear and a lid 30 years ago when everyone really did think I was a numpty.

-
• #55

I'm giving up riding and walking and driving and everything

According to a witness I lamped him lefthanded.
As I'm right handed I am justifiably proud of this achievement.
Just wish I could remember doing it.Honest officer.

You should get in touch with the CTC for advice. The whole thing sounds somewhat dubious to me.

^ fo' sure - Join CTC now! how can this be OK in the eyes of the plod?

Its all in the hands of my (free with house insurance) solicitors.
To be honest I'm not that interested in whether he gets done for pulling out or not.
I have previous experience of our "justice" system in this kind of situation (being an old git) and have found it somewhat lacking. What I really want to do is to bleed him for every penny I possibly can.
In my (long) experience being kicked in the wallet is the most effective punishment.
But thanks for the advice guys.

That is the best defense ever.
"I misjudged your speed."
Hmm lets try
"I misjudged your road position"
or
"I miss judged your size"

what do you expect from NHS?! i'd be more worried about that, than the accident. although the allergic reaction/rash is not nice.
-
• #64
Yes, that was a bit wierd.
It seems I'm allergic to the adhesive on the surgical dressing.Oh, and allergic to blind twats in cars (now with a split lip).
I'm glad to say I survived the NHS, no Cdiff or MRSA.
Having said that the mashed potatoe nearly got me!Toodle pip.

Er, so I just had my interview - 2 posts, same role, one at the Angel (10 min walk), and one at Finsbury Park (15 min ride). The Angel is easier logistically, but I get the feeling they'll be wanting to use some of my client-specific experience at the Finsbury Park site.
If I don't get a call-back by 5pm, I've been unsuccessful.
My undecidedness has even stretched as far as buying 2 new pairs of commuter shoes - one cleated, one for pounding the pavement. So which pair (if any) is going to see the most action...

I'm resisting the urge to photoshop lots of pictures of the named flump onto some seagull infested landfill site...
Can you tell I'm bored at work today?
-
• #67
@Evilmonkey - what degree did you 'interrupt then? And what (boring) job filled the void?
-
• #68
Woo-hoo! I got the job - maternity cover till June at... the Angel. So that means:

• #69
Congrats.
-
• #70
Nice one.
-
• #71
just because you got a job why will you become green?
-
• #72
Congratulations.
That is one of the tripyest videos I have ever seen.
(The congratulation was for the job not the video.)
-
• #73
flickwg just because you got a job why will you become green?
Because walking to work is even more eco-friendly then riding :p
Extra bonus is that because my degree is 'interrupted' rather than 'terminated', I can still use my student ID for this 'n' that.
