going to get a nice foam head thing i think[/quote]I thought you'd like that. :-P Sorry for offering an opinion when you didn't even ask for one, but I couldn't contain myself any longer. It had crossed my mind before that I was only looking at your wares for the tiniest fraction of a second. Then my eyes were jumping all over the rest of the photo to see what I could spot in the background. I managed to keep my trap shut till I saw this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7082478.stm
You see, you're always looking at the ground in the photos, so that we can get a good look at the hats, I suppose. The BBC article basically says that you're more likely to be found attractive if you're looking straight at someone or directly at the camera when you're having your picture taken(I'm extrapolating slightly.) This confirmed the long-held Soweto theory that folk who aren't looking straight at the lens in photos are shifty. :-) Basically, I was worried that folk were thinking, "Would you by a hat from this man?"
Apologies to Smeear and everyone else for this stupid post. I kind of feel better having got it off my chest, though. And it's not about halflinks, or spacers, or chainline... :-)

hahah nice!
there is another school of thought that says people will be more likely to look at an image if it contains a face (or person) and it will hold there attention for longer
(though i can site this, someone might have a nice link?)but either way i went to the 'dummies' shop today to see how much a head would cost
so tomorrow i will likely be asking the fourm for a nice name for my new head :) -
• #15
smeear there's a hole in your ear! you should get that looked at!
-
• #16
p.s there is some weird stuff in the background for sure
like kids bikes with office chairs welded to them
-
• #17
Mr Brown smeear there's a hole in your ear! you should get that looked at!
Pardon!
-
• #18
Maybe you could hold the dummy head and hat under one arm while you look directly at the camera. :-P

• #20
hahaha That's EXACTLY what I had in mind. :-)
-
• #21
I think photos with people wearing the hats are way better..... i'd much rather buy something i have seen on someone's head than something on a piece of plastic.
-
• #22
have some nice ladyyyyz posin for ye...i mean fine lookin ones
-
• #23
yeah for style shots yeah sexy models is the ways its going to go
but thats for the studio, good lighting good cameras, lots of time etcthe other side of the coin is that i need to take pics quick and post the product up quickly as most hats are one-offs
thats where the bodiless head comes into play. for the pictures in the shop section i need speed and not pics of me in the gardenthe new site will make it clear, the blog will not need to be littered with pics of hats cause they will all go into the shop section
and the sexy ladies can go in the blog and welll everywhere
were working on the new website at the moment -
• #24
yeah i saw some design earlier and it looked cool.
See what you mean though.... you could just describe them with beautiful prose though
-
• #25
but what i mean is that if you get nice looking ladys yuo won't need to fuck aout with light this that the other, ya get me? not just some woman that rides a fixed gear...
Know what i mean?
So yeah ive put up some very simple paypal buttons onto the blog and whipped together a shop of sorts
just to make it a bit simpler fo' yal
there should be lots more up next week
including some thinner light-weight, hard brimmed caps in amazing colours.
i'll be at polo this sunday if you want to play dress-ups
