  • it looked cold this morning, but mon was actually a colder. weird.

  • it's getting warmer tomorrow, but watch out for the fog!

  • it was quite nice this morning....the frost did put me off a bit but i didnt hit the road untill half nine.....i was alright!

  • Did not feel bad this morning at all. my ears felt a little numb but a hat or ear warmer would have been too hot.

  • I need to go and get a jacket today at lunch, or I'm going to be found dead of hypothermia at traffic lights somewhere between here and South London.

don't stop at the lights :) in fact, just never, ever stop

  • one word for all you cold people

    gillet

best bike clothing purchase this autumn for me, with a thin long sleeve sports I am toasty.

  • went out with my new shoes, just a quick spin at lunchtime down to the wine merchants, the shoes are almost too warm so should be good for the winter mornings, very comfortable, but didn't test the goretex out as it wasn't raining.

  • could've used some "warm november rain" ;)

  • grey fleece gilet from primark 4 quid. neck a bit sweaty but thumbs up combined with katmandu 10 pound merino base layers 3 quid merino beanie caps and decathlon wicking tees at a fiver each. with some decent (not cheap) arm and knee warmers I think I'm set till it ices over and just gets dangerous.

  • had to put on my old pace winteractive today, had it for 14 years great piece of kit......only comes out when really cold though.

  • nice and fresh today. Ear warmer head band went on at the start. Wicked!

  • Really nippy this morning, but I'm getting narked off with the Jekyll and Hyde nature of my commute - cold down Hammersmith Road, through Kensington and Hyde Park. Then the urban heat island kicks in at Grosvenor Square and I start overheating....

  • probably not the best day to christen a new armidillo and gatorskin on the front ;) , slippery all the way!!

  • dogsballs probably not the best day to christen a new armidillo and gatorskin on the front ;) , slippery all the way!!

    Told ya bro.

Word to that. On the BBC they had the expected difference in temp between areas

    Country side -4 to -5 deg C
    Small towns -4 to -3 deg C
    Suburbs -3 to -2 deg C
    Central London -1 to 0 deg C

So up to a five deg C difference, I always expect center of town to be a few deg warmer but up to 5 is massive. Shows how much in efficient heating goes on.

just need to get some wear, then they be ok.

when i first came to london i lived up in east finchley and i swear we had worse frosts and more snow thatn down in town. suppose its a hundred metres higher and a tad cooler.

  • Batten down the hatches these next few days.
Weather is going to be perfect, both cold and wet.
We might even get snow - hooray !

  • er, my ride from paddington to bow just now was Paris roubaix, except worse.

i think i may have pneumonia

  • Cobblers.

well, i got sleeted on already today. snow would be cooler, though, none of this mushy stuff that soaks right through you.

  • Fscking electric shower packed it in today.. fscks sake.. can't wait to crawl in bed with the missus covered head to toe in fscking road grime.. :S

  • Seriously can't believe this hasn't come up recently. BBC 5 day forecast is a joke. It might stop raining on Sunday. For a bit.

Thank god for showers at work.

  • i loved the rain.....

  • Once in a while is fine, I'd just like to give my clothes a chance to dry out in between.

Putting soggy shoes on in the morning, than again in the evening isn't exactly nice.
