  • i heard a funny story how clarkson introduced himself to kate moss at a party a few years ago with the line: "I'm jeremy clarkson i do top gear" To which she replied " I'm sorry i don't take drugs." much laughter ensued clarkson stumped... and then she obviously went to the bog and had a line of gak the size of one of clarkys eyebrows.

  • Trash your tv

It waste's precious cycling/climbing/"actually doing shit" time.

Clarkson's version of that story is that it was Goldie, who was sat next to KM you asked "Are you trying to sell her drugs".

Thats sounds more likely... p.s. object17 i couldnt agree more with you thoughts, i don't have a telly which seems to piss people off when they discuss programs with you and you don't have a clue what they are on about, they look at you like you are deliberatly trying to belittle them, when clearly i just feel more wholesome for the lack of shit in my head.

  • skoota when clearly i just feel more wholesome for the lack of shit in my head.

Damned straight. I couldn't imagine having a television, when the hell would I find time to watch it anyway?
It become quite amusing when people realise how little I know of celebrity and the media world. I however, couldn't be happier.

  • there is other stuff on tv....its not just about celebrates and over priced cars.there are some educational programs aswell

  • just watched it on you tube. Quite funny. It is always nice to see J.C loosing.

  • Where's the youtube link?

  • working at the moment but may get blocked by youtube.

  • Any chance you could ingress/regress/whateverthefcukitscalledgress the other twi vids? Youtube banned by work, so only managed to watch part one!

there are many sources of education which im sure your aware of....tv is one of them..i know 90% of it is absolute shit(i rarely watch tv) but you cant generalize tv like that.....have you ever watch planet earth? i can assure you, that is not shit.

I just did top gear london bike or top gear london race search on youtube. First set of links where blocked waited 10 min and the tried again and a new set where up. Or try google video.

  • RPM top gear used to be a motoring consumer's prog.

remember? they used to test ordinary cars, not much else.

over the years it's morphed into a boy's own adventure and gadget show, and is all the better for it.

I still watched The Accidental Angler last night instead.

True, true. The photography on Top Gear is always impressive. And we all know Clarkson is a twat, but he's good to laugh at.

  • Just watched it on You Tube, i like the program, mindless viewing on a sunday night when winding down?
Gotta make the most of it, move house soon, and not gonna buy a new tv, just the web, and moozik!
He could of used a better bike, it looked like hard work on that? Still, guess it's light, and if it is his
he'll be used to riding it.

Valid - They are also available on DVD though :]
It's the 90%+ of shit that removes any worth in purchasing a TV (For me personally, not for everyone).
Plus I'm a geek and love studying, it's so much more satisfying for me to go and research/learn about a topic rather than have a segmented half hour/series of TV shows tell me about things.

As always, each to their own.

fair enough....some people cant afford dvd's and some times the only education they receive is through tv........each to there own(although i don't watch tv(much))

  • I watched the race last night and it got me to thinking: "How long would it take me to go from Kew Bridge to City airport on my bike?"

I found it quite hard to guess, since there are a few bits of that journey out West that I don't know. But I think that under an hour is a reasonable estimate? Probably at least 45 minutes.

    Whaddya reckon?

  • Might take a bit longer if you use google.. "Kew Bridge to City Airport"

  • mashton I watched the race last night and it got me to thinking: "How long would it take me to go from Kew Bridge to City airport on my bike?"

    longer then average

  • I'm not saying that the educational stuff on TV serves no purpose. Meerly that the majority of people I've ever spoken to will watch endless shit because they're too apathetic to actually do anything.
Needless to say this likely doesn't relate to allmost people on this forum as we have our own two wheel based addiction.

  • 17mi

You'd be doing well to do the 17mi in 45min, especially in peak hour. Depends on your r_d light policy I guess.
Personally, I don't reckon I'd make it in under an hour.

It's not that, Youtube is banned completly, but if embedded in a topic as above I (and Brett!) can view them, hence I've only been able to view the first part.
