  • asm shimano were the people who pioneered clipless pedals weren't they? Which way round SHOULD the cleats go? with the curvy pointy bit at the front and the square tab at the back?

    Look invented the first modern clipless system, although there were others before them (I think theither Campy or Cinelli made some clip in pedals that wouldn't release in a crash - safe!). It was always gonna be the french cos they love skiing and that was the inspiration.

  • My first ever pedal:

    Onza HO 1993(bought mine in 95)
    Taiwan
    Similar function to Shimano SPDs but used elastomers instead of springs.
