  • hippy How far do you ride it? What are they like for say 1hr riding? smiling-buddha if you're listening this applies to you too.. and any other folder peeps out there.
Yes, I'm still considering my options. Gunning down everyone in the city is a little more difficult than I first thought.

I'm riding from Charing Cross Hospital for South Kensington (Imperial College). It's pretty comfy, although it is a little small for me with the current seat post (could do with being a couple inches higher). I find the bottom bracket is too far under me, so I'm pedalling a bit differently to what I'm used to on my fix.

If I spent a bit of money on it, I reckon it'd be just as comfy for long riding as any other bike. Not going to bother though because it's just a temporary measure until I move into my own place, rather than halls.

My Brompton is a 2-speed. Basically spinning and mashing. The mashing I think is 77", if I remember the Brompton web site correctly. I find it fine, London is so bloody flat it's almost stupid. Makes my hometown look like the alps (and I had no problems riding fixed there).

I looked into fixing it (LPG whispered a link) and I don't think I can. I need a uniformed rear triangle, which Bromptons don't have. Ah well....

    Buddha - Nice, looks sweet.

Hippy - you want a fixed folder then? Look at this: http://www.foldsoc.co.uk/Mike/fixed_airnimal.html If you got a second hand Dahon you could do it nice and cheap.
