And there goes the Challenger, being chased by the blue, blue meanies on wheels. The vicious traffic squad cars are after our lone driver, the last American hero, the electric centaur, the, the demi-god, the super driver of the golden west! Two nasty Nazi cars are close behind the beautiful lone driver. The police numbers are gettin' closer, closer, closer to our soul hero, in his soul mobile, yeah baby! They about to strike. They gonna get him. Smash him. Rape... the last beautiful free soul on this planet.

you mean you only love dirty Volvo 850s?

CARS - evil objects of death, maiming, wars etc. Sometimes necessary for carrying multiple heavy objects. Use as last resort.
BICYCLES - practical objects of beauty. Good for the mind, body and soul.
THE FUCKING END.

^ I don't think you're ever going to persuade the creative director of a car magazine to that way of thinking :oP
There are no absolutes in life. Whether or not a car thread should exist on this site is a different question. It's sparked a lot of interest, that's for sure.
(Le Car: agree with the Caterham, perfect track day car. I'd love a DS as a 'practical' car - if it were anywhere near practical).
I easily do more miles per year on my bikes than I do in my car, but I acknowledge the need for one.

The most prolific
whingerposter on a London bike forum is an Aussie who owns a car... hmm. :PCars in London are stupid. Cars driven 500m to the shops are stupid. Cars elsewhere can and do have a purpose.
I mean, what else am I gonna hate on during my rides??! ;)

Usually I don't hate cars. Howeve, one knocked me off my bike last week and I broke my wrist, so...
...cars can fuck right off. All of them.

Especially that one...

Object17 Am I the only person who hates cars?
Nope.
MA3K|³| Neither do I, I just believe that most journeys by car in London are unnecessary and hence selfish.
I agree. I just don't get why the hell you would need to drive in London. If you need move something large, get a taxi. Or rent a van. But the school kids that get dropped off in 4x4s and Bentleys everyday at the private schools in South Ken near Exhibition Road and various other places - no excuse at all.

le car hey gotta love them sometimes. It's part of my job after all...
First you suck my wheel, then you switch me, now this?
Oh, yorgo!
Straight to the bottom of the MT Xmas card list.

Well, that's up to them. They'll pay more in taxes, won't they.
I believe bikes are great and i think more people should ride them, but i believe more strongly in peoples right to be free to decide how they travel.
