• best!:: you guys know why! and it does me well....

better:::i love this bike! i think its beautiful!!

• Best: First ever pair of Sidis. Oh. My. Word. My toes are even happier than David Mellor's.

And a proper workstand. My back is happy.

Worst: Being ripped off on eBay. (Seller advertised roadbike with "full 105 groupset". Came with Sora. Paypal claim that this is 'not significantly different')

Minoura band-on bottle cage mounts. Impossible to get on. Stupid. Used a behind-the-saddle thingy instead.

Most pointless: Brompton. Used for a fortnight when I was on a gig without bike parking. Then mothballed. But at least I'm at clients with bike facilities now.

• aidan - you really need a photographer to take some nice shots of your bikes. I hear there's one moving to your area soon ;-)

• photoben aidan - you really need a photographer to take some nice shots of your bikes. I hear there's one moving to your area soon ;-)

• Ha! Cheeky git.

• where you moving to then????????

• MA3K Max, you must have rough hands?

nah i just throw my bike around too much and the edges wore through

• Crashing with Pat until Jan.

• nice mate! im sure to be seeing more of your mug in the future.....

• best: specialized tarmac expert

worst: crushing the bearings in my time atacs and fighting with them to replace it; and crushing the bearings in one of my rear wheels (but it was a quandro hub, so i suppose that was expected)

•
MA3K Bestest: my conversion skate/cycle shoes

aha! you're the fella i saw in front of me at CM the month before last with the Sal 23's!

I have had shoe jealousy for the past two months, would be interested to know how any conversion tips.

bugger, got too excited, then saw the post a few below it..sorry.

• MA3K - you've inspired me!

You'z a genius.

• best:
the samosas from the market before the TDF prologue .
spd shoes and crank bros pedals (even though the pedals were free).
stella azura eleganza bar tape.
large bottles of Peroni.

worst:
pizza from the restaurant at the end of my road.
continental ultragatorskins.
mks sylvans, clips and straps.
rapha beer at raphapalooza.

• best:
selle italia storika saddle - love the feel of them copper rivets

worst:
spd-sl pedal cleats for the road bike. cleats fine but had to pay another £6 to get bolts long enough to reach the thread in the sole of my shoes. what's that all about

• Best:
Ultragatorskins - Not a single puncture through the tyre.
Sugino 75 cranks and ring

Worst:
Crank brothers pump - broke the first day I used it.
Cheap innertubes from Decathlon - rubber and valve interface insufficient.

• Best :

Eggbeater SLs from Murtle
My Bike

Worst :

The idea that spending huge amounts on bikes is ok.

• RPM

worst:
continental ultragatorskins.

Really?
Mine were amazing.

• JOL
RPM

worst:
continental ultragatorskins.

Really?
Mine were amazing.
+1

• you know, I think I've mentioned it before, but there was talk that two separate factories made those tyres, some were bad, some were good.

I had a pair, they punctured three times before actually splitting open.

and I'd just run two years on some cheap things without a single flat.

in comparison, my mate has been using some contis for 6 months without any hassle at all.

• best thing.

tax rebate giving me enough money to buy new geared bike soma smoothie, after 14yrs on mountain bike
condor for letting me ride their titanium moda, which made me want a titanium bike
ebay seller letting me grab titanium track frame from him for just over two hundred notes
this forum for giving me enough information to put the fucker together.
doing the first bridges ride, and vowing not to sprint - its a social ride - but then having no other choice as ever other fucker went rushing past.

worst thing.

falling off bikes, especially when you fall through the passenger side window of a car.
the 2nd bridges ride soaking wet, then just plain damp, then getting puncture at 4am, and not having a spare innertube to hand and having to get a taxi back from greenwich.
not having enough of a fucking summer to enjoy riding, since it was raining all the cunting time.
having to get rid of me old mountain bike, since I'm never gonna ride it again, but still feeling very attached to it, like an old dog whose wheezing and coughing and you know its not worth it to keep them going, but you just can't bear putting it out of its misery.

• Eh thought i posted.

Best:

Handlebars and brake from hovis - comfy and free! Thanks a bunch
Wheels from lpg - light and cheap! Thanks a bunch
Bianchi pista - shiny and reliable! Thanks a bunch

Worst:

Loose lockrings
Shimano spds unclipping during skids resulting in a semi amusing uppy downy scary near crashing experience. This is down more to poor technique though.
Specialised saddle. Uncomfortable (but not sterilisingly so), but biggest issue is the rip which magically appeared almost straight away.
Rain.

• mr_tom Worst: Being ripped off on eBay. (Seller advertised roadbike with "full 105 groupset". Came with Sora. Paypal claim that this is 'not significantly different')

You fscking what?!?! I'd take this shit to small claims court or whatever the UK equiv. is.

£2 for tonight's turbo session.

• Best: a brand new uber bling bling Time Ulteam frame, for cheaper than trade price:
