hosepipe, i agree with you on trying to build one's own bike but i really don't understand why you need to sound so hostile. have you actually met the guys yourself? they're all really nice people and what's wrong with trying to make some money providing a service that a lot of people wouldn't be able/dare to do themselves? from your point of view it sounds like you want all bike mechanics on the planet sacked or even all bike shops going bust.
being able to find that solution on the net in 5 secs doesn't mean you get to sort out the problem in 5 secs. and not everyone knows what they are really searching for. it also doesn't make any sense for someone to shell out for a headset tool or some b.b. tools if they're just building ONE bike. tools aren't cheap.
also, bike part prices on ebay have rocketed sky high. aren't those sellers captalising on the same thing as well? aren't BLB doing the same on an even bigger scale?
