  • peejay78 how's the bib cajeta? i hear they look good with nothing but a diamante thong.

diamante thong? oh yeah, putting the "ho" in "hovis".

personally, i prefer mine with kneesocks. oh, and safety being of utmost importance, a helmet.
    so hott.

  • I'm not sure I want to join the slow group ride in from clapham common.

might just meander up under my own steam (with hangover) and do some liming around the park..

some beer and food wouldn't go amiss

  • The LCC ride to the TdF prologue was very slow indeed, and I imagine this would be similar.

  • that's why I'm avoiding it!

  • dogsballs hippy, my mate who worked at melbourne bicycle shop in clifton hill was a trails rider, way b4 it became trendy. remember watching hans rey on steve vizard, he was amazing!

What's his name? I bought my Zebdi (trials bike) off a guy who worked in Melbourne Bicycle Shop. He had personalized plates but I can't remember his name..

Got it! Darren was his name. Know him?

  • brett The LCC ride to the TdF prologue was very slow indeed, and I imagine this would be similar.

I want a nice, safe-feeling for my gf.. she's not into riding with traffic.. might have to put a polo gear on the Raleigh for this :)

  • I could ride my other bike:

    hard work on the road

Once you're on the route, I think you can do what you like.

I marshalled the ride to the TdF prologue from Greenwich. The pace was really slow, but that was 200 riders of all abilities, including 20 primary school children at the front with their cycling instructors.

You'll manage slow, Hippy. Particularly as you'll be carrying all the sugary treats for the picnic.

  • I'll just drink more than usual and induce a hangover.. I wont notice the 'slow' then.

  • millierider ok, so who is going?????

you think it will be ok to just turn up even though i havent registered?
    ; )

I'm just going to head up there, and try and just cycle around and have fun. We'll see what happens- it'd be pretty stupid if they turn away bicyclists for not registering. not to mention bad publicity, etc.
There's always the ' but i need to get to work' line. And yes, i know its a sunday.

  • htay I'm just going to head up there, and try and just cycle around and have fun. We'll see what happens- it'd be pretty stupid if they turn away bicyclists for not registering. not to mention bad publicity, etc.

I am sure it will be ok, apparently they have had problems getting the bike bells through customs (no joke) - so even those who have registered have not received any of the welcome packs (bib, bell etc) - because of the customs delay.

So quite a few of the people who have registered have got no proof, I can't see them turning people away, just tell them you did register but received nothing through the post.

  • I sent a message to them saying me and my flat mates have registered but have not yet received are packs. I just lied. I will email again tomorrow. They said if I don’t have it tomorrow " not to panic " but they will sort some thing out for me. Maybe that’s the way to do it. Can’t see it not working any way there will be to many people there.

Who else is up for meeting at Clapham common????

    1. millierider
      2.asm
  • My pack arrived at work today.. I feel so special..

no, his name is Dubby (real name david brear) and he had really dark skin, but was born in oz and had the most ocker accent.

  • Got a response from London freewheel, they said 'yes' you can take part even if you have not registered.

  • good work leeww. I'm gonna donate my bib to my daughter and just ride in a red T shirt. and some shorts too.

  • Yeah, good on ya leeww.

Is there a FGSS meeting point and time? I'll try and make it down.

  • Meet at winston's rollers.. entry fee of a pint.. payable to the doorman (look for the red/yellow Raleigh) ;)

  • What? Wheres that? what time?

Hope it wasn't a joke, coz it went right over my head if it was.

Ran into Chris (the dude with the red kieran everyone like so much) on the way to work yesterday, he said Robin was organising somewhere to meet up. Don't know what their forum names are. thats why I changed my useless old name from Papelo to something my mum came up with.

Can anyone verify? meeting place, is that hippy on drugs....

  • Got my pack this morning. I've been ringing the bell every time i want tea but my coworkers aren't catching on. No top trumps

  • hippy is on drugs, that much I can verify!

Yes it was a joke.. but you can still bring me beer.

I'll just wait until someone mentions a meeting place..

  • London

  • Sweet

    London on Sunday.
    See you then

  • ok, my weekend is off, i am back in town and goddamn if i won't try and keep up with one of these race-paced rides.

    where's the meet?

  • A few of us are meeting at clapham common. Might be a bit of a trek if you live north of the river mind.
