  • Strong chance I may be there for the 10:30 sesh this week.

  • cool would be good to get a bunch of people over there
i haven't been since mid may / june time
    shame on me

  • i want to go, but i'm not sure if i can make it for 9.

  • I'm with my Toddler this Saturday and she hasn't done the induction yet.

  • aye. saturday smells like a track morning indeed. see you there

  • After my last attempt to attend the 9am induction failed (rain), I might give it another go this saturday and see where we go from there.

  • I'll try and make it, has anyone hired from there?
What are the bikes like? and do you reckon they sell em?

  • yeah, when I did the induction last week I used one of their bikes. Actually quite a nice ride, will probably use one again this week.
Not sure they sell 'em though.

  • there was something on the website about renting one exclusively for you, a season at a time.. You can only use them on the track, obviously, but it was quite cheap..

I'll try and make it for the 4th weekend in a row, but.. who knows :( I'm just too damn lazy..

  • i might have to bail- my bike ride this afternoon quickly doubled in length, due to some questionable directions.
    I hate parcelforce doubly now.
I'll see how i feel at 8 am.... It'd be a sweet experience- and i could really do with some trackstand tips.

  • htay I hate parcelforce doubly now.

haha, when they "delivered" my wheels, they left the (correctly addressed) parcel at a flat with a house number 2 digits off from mine, different apartment number, different street name (name began with the same letter), different postcode. called them, and after 2 calls, was finally put through to their depot, who said that they'd talk to the driver who'd delivered the package. i NEVER heard back from them.
luckily, the lady who ended up with them (next door neighbor to where they'd been left-- wtf) was honest, and kind enough to come find me and drop off my package.

  • dang i missed it again... friday nights...

if you think parcelforce is bad, UPS = no good either. I bought a pair of wheels on ebay, the seller marked the box telling the guy to call on the contact number, plus i put a huge sign on the door telling the guy to call me. he didn't. he left the box in a charity shop 2 doors down. wtf??

  • all parcel deliver guys are shit. But then they don't pay them enough to care so can you blame them?

  • i'm an examiner/marker for A Level English. the parcelforce chump left 300 literature papers (for me to mark, so they can get their grades and go to uni, etc) on my doorstep in hackney road.

    classy.

  • Did anyone show up yesterday? I popped down at 12.30 but there didn't seem to be anyone about apart from the hardcore folks on the track... P*ssed off I've missed induction... Again...
    Friday nights indeed...

lucky it wasn't raining like it was in sheffield.

  • i'm definately going to start racing properly ...road or velodrome, whichever.

    Friday nights indeed...

I was there (bright yellow bike). The last session was quite good actually - every one in a big group, noodle round for a few laps, then a 3 lap race, followed by a few more laps noodling, then another 3 lap race, and so on. bloody knackering but good practice for learning when and how to jockey for position in the final few laps of a race.

  • Is anyone going to the induction this weekend?

I'm super keen to get involved, it would be good if we made a 'yes, we're all lazy bastards, but THIS week, we're DEFINITELY going' commitment...

    So. I'm starting a list...

    1. Samsonite
    1. Samsonite
    2. Stompy
  • yes!

  • I am with the Baby this week, might come down to watch.

  • i'll be doing the second session

  • If anyone's there that I don't know, please say hi...

I'll be the dirty, sweaty – and probably tearful – mess on a black IRO (no stickers, except for the skull and crossbones on the headtube).
