It is a bit blah... He says it's a decal, Keith Hufnagel's skate/sneaker store in SF put the pattern on a bunch of Nike collabs and apparel last year to commemorate the centenary of the big SF quake... Lotsa hype on that one to be sure... They do some cool stuff tho'...

US$265 for black, white ones a bit more...
Emailed the guy a few weeks ago about one but haven't heard a peep...
http://www.aerospoke.com has been out of stock for ages... -

i'm sorry but that pista mings.
actually i'm not sorry. it's a hideous looking bike.
-
• #11
whats teh sizing of those? 700*23?
-
• #12
Areospokes are bloody heavy. Great if you live somewhere flat, not so good elsewhere.
I'm with Mr Smith - throwing a bunch of random parts on your bike is not stylish, a little thought goes a long way.

i don't mind the decals on the rear deep v. makes my plain white look bland.

I agree that it's not the most stylish bike around (just a mish mash of trends), although I think it's pretty interesting that the SF/skate influenced fixed gear style has made it to NE England.
I was being sarcastic earlier, but then started to think about whether it would be possible to tattoo a Brooks. I mean it's leather and so I half think it might be possible.
-
• #17
i reckon a tattooed Brooks would look pretty cool. but then that leather is a lot tougher than my skin

why not banksy to paint a frame. surely some of you arty farty designers or 'artists' (no offence meant) must know him.
you could easily brand the saddle instead of tattoo
-
• #19
ohh yeah banksy's down stairs right now making some toast...il go ask....

Didn't Kid Koala do a frame with someone else recently?
Yeah that pista is nasty - but momentum no need to be surprised I dont think - with the internet and whatnot those kind fashions can travel anywhere. Especially I guess if he is riding fixed without any others around. He's gotta take his starting point from somewhere. He just mighta picked the wrong starting point ;)

Yeah - Kid Koala and Zoo York did this bike. That's one of the things (the HUF stickers being another) that made me think about the way that fixed gear bikes are crossing over with skating. The other thing was the dramatic change of attitude over the last year in my mate's little brother who's really into BMX - went from "what's a track bike, sounds interesting" to "yeah I saw the Trackstar/DQM bikes in a magazine"
from http://www.inqmnd.ca/blog/2007/07/zoo-york-canada-kid-koala-and-paul-107.html
I think it's pretty nice although I don't like the aerospokes.
Spotted this on FGG today http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/2007/aug/3/Barrie.htm
Covers most of the fixed gear trends in one hit and it's in North East UK! Come on London, we're slacking. I'm going to graffitti every component of my bike this evening to pass the time while I wait for the guys in the bodyshop down the road to finish airbrushing my portrait onto a Mavic disk. I'm also adding sailor tattoos to a Brooks to finsih the job.
