true enough, but what I know for a fact is this:
Mr Smith of this forum has been running a set for a while (including the DD) with not a single flat.
I had a set that punctured three times in as many weeks then one finally split and exploded when the bike was on it's way to it's new owner.
now I use bontys, and they havent punctured, despite spitting out bits of glass and flint every so often..
I've never been a puncture person, I ride light over rough stuff, avoid glass and keep my rims in good order.
