photoben Hippy if you have a trailer of Bassets Animal mix I'm staying behind you for the whole ride.
B.A.D. place to be , you'll constantly be bombarded with discarded food wrappers, banana skins etc......could be dangerous

banana skins? What kind of healthy-eating freakazoid do you think i am?!?!
Definitely lots of methane gas though and powerbar wrappers and redundant spit and snot, empty beer cans.. you know.. the usual. -

Apart from the usual tubes, tools and plasters,
Nurofen - for sore hands and shoulders.
towel - wot? not going for a dip?
Jelly beans - to share
Peanut butter sandwiches - for meIf there's room, I'll pack a small bottle of scotch, to celebrate, and to bribe people who help me fix p***t*r*s.

Ok so I went and did some "training" today. 50 miles it is to Reading from my place. My advice: bring much food and eat it before you think you need it, or else you're in trouble!

Welcome to Club Bonk!
I was quite delerious after today's ride. Body going hot and cold. Knew I needed sugar and fast. Busted through the door and into some Bassetts Snakes. Saved. -

And don't underestimate those gels and energy bars, they will get you through the times when you're feeling weak. Take flapjacks too.
Eat and drink before you need to, little and often is the rule. Avoiding bonking is EASY providing you do something about it before it happens. That said, it's a night ride, you won't sweat as heavily, so don't drown yourself in water. You'll only need to drink a few litres on a ride like this. So carry something around the 1.5l or 2l mark to get you through, top up at the feeding station.
It's not too scary a ride, just be prepared and take it easy.
