Sorry to complicate the issue but have you considered a Pac Designs bag? I know they're expensive but the exchange rates in our favour at the moment and IMHO they're great bags and they're definitely great people to deal with. They'll do pretty much anytthing on the custom flap front and their strap system with the extra cross strap is brilliant. I've had my bag something like five years now ( http://www.pacdesigns.com/photo_flaps.htm , its the green one with the reflective peace sign ) I've used it pretty much every day since I got it and apart from recently developing a small hole in the front outer pocket is still going strong, also unless you literally imerse it in water it's water proof. It's definitely miles better than the other (early) Timbuk2 and Chrome bags I've had, absolutely no competition. If you're in London and want to check them out I think Brick Lane Cycles stock them. Absolutely no disrespect to Brick Lane Cycles, but I'd still deal direct with PAC Designs and get them to do a custom flap for you, that way it's your bag.
