I'm still astonished that the Langster is the lightest frame listed, I’m wondering where the weight is in the bike? It’s a 2006, so was originally fitted with the aluminum fork, but I swapped this out for a carbon one (admittedly with an aluminum steerer), so where’s the weight? Can’t do it this weekend but I’m tempted to strip the frame down to weigh it just to see if the 3.5 lb figure is accurate.

Wheels are the next bulkiest item. What wheels does it have?
Then it's a case of everything else adds up. Cranks, BB, saddle, post, bars, stem, tubes, tyres.. weigh them individually and compare. Or you could just be unfit? :P -

Can i just speak up in defense of bareknuckles - they aren't more likely to break or anything.
i'm just reckless
-
• #23
I have never hit anything with mine (bareknuckle) but I ride it hard on cobbles, up curbs and down steps without too much bother
-

wes's koga must be pretty darn light you can flex the aluminium tubing with your fingers ( i was told )
that can't weight more than a nats whisker ( no nat, not you it would be rude to assume you had a whisker ) -

I am heavy/overweight, I don't deny it and I fully appreciate the answer is to ride more and faster to get fitter/lose some of the weight, it's just more pleasureable doing it with the benefit/advantage of a lighter bike.
Apart from the forks, seatpost, brakes, levers, stem and bars everything on the langster is stock, okay looking at that maybe it's not such a stock Langster, but it's still (relative to my Pedal Force and it's got gears as well) heavy!
What is the weight of your bike?
