The deal is, as said above the 18T freewheel cog and chain and 48T chainring supplied on the bike are 3/32 (2.3mm) width. They have included a 1/8 (3.2mm) width fixed gear with the bike. Problem is it is too thick to allow the the 3/32 chain to run on it. If I were you I would go to Brixton cycles and get a fixed Surly 18T 3/32 gear for £19.00. Looks cool, and they have stock unlike the 1/8 version. (I was there today). Alternatively change the whole lot over to 1/8.
