Anyone who wants a cheap and relatively secure mini d-lock can check out discount bicycles, which has the onguard mini bulldog for "20 or so, and then ride to their industrial unit in Brixton and buy it without the P&P. The lock is ok rather than amazing (soldsecure silver) but is a handy size and a good back up lock.
I use the Abus Granit steel-o-flex cable which is good for getting round oversized lamposts etc. and a pitlock skewer on my front wheel.
