Why would I buy a (£150) Garmin watch when I could just use a cheap(er) strap?
I generally don't use HR outside, I only use it on the turbo, because I have power and I only care about x watts and not if my heart is going to explode producing x watts.
Although, thinking about it, I could use the HRM outside to get better estimates of training load on non-PM bikes. Better yet, I'll put a PM on the Surly :D
Just use a Garmin watch with OHR? It's not like you're racing anymore and need the accuracy 😛
