Thinking of getting one to monitor the power usage of my home office. Everything runs off one plug (2 gang extension with one into a UPS and then distributed from there, another for stuff that doesn't need to be on the UPS). Total load is rarely >2A.
Seems to be a well thought of brand that doesn't tie you into their own private cloud. I'd be looking to get the data into Prometheus to store/graph - there seem to be lots of exporters already.
I haven't used those but I have some Local Bytes smart plugs that do what they say on the tin. They will talk to things like Home Assistant or you can talk mqtt etc
I've got a "Shelly Plug S Gen 3" on my washing machine and connected to Home Assistant. Also easy to set up an automation to tell me when it's finished.
Anyone played around with a Shelly Plus Plug?
