In my ~4 years as a FUCKING STUDENT in (South) Yorkshire the word
thewas rarely spoken. I came to think that thet'replacedtoand notthe, e.g."I am going to the pub" = I'm going t'pub
"Will you catch the bus?" = Will you catch bus?
