Does anyone know how to get the expander out of an ancient Look fork (HSC 4)?

Have you tried putting the bolt back in and giving it a little tap on the head?

Thanks, that did indeed do the trick after I worked up the courage to hit it hard enough. I’m not sure how best to go about getting the split ring out now.

Edit: turns out wiggling it out with a finger works ok. What’s the recommended aftermarket compression plug to replace this one?
