Googling that found a menswear shop in Bangkok- is that what you mean?

Dubbin day for my Altbergs, loving the embossed tin.
I also finally sprung for some Blundstone 2340’s because my cheapo versions were so sloppy they were killing my knees. Wish I’d done it years ago as they’re half the weight and fit properly. Now they just need fucking up…

Sales are on so there maybe something fancy at an alright price compared to RRP, but could be best to look at workwear (actually work wear not the poncy stuff that mud wouldn't touch)

Different thing but similar note, these were for sale in an everything you need to be an olive oil producer in Spain, the quality for the price was unbelievable

Those boots

That’s the right look and performance. Soft toe is essential. But who’s going to sell a pair of those. Surely you run them into the ground

Some people do - some people don’t - I’ve found new with boxes blundstone twice so far in charity shops in Islington - I got mine from eBay for £60 a few years ago - there are loads about

The Dandy Workwear thread might have had some suggestions if you search

Ideally I want soft toe. Safety boots seem to be very cheap.

DMs? When you say soft toe do you mean 'soft' or not safety toes?
I got my daughter a cracking pair of boots on FB Marketplace recently - brand new and £100 cheaper than shop price. -

Perfect for the allotment. Soil doesn't stick to them if you're working on wet ground. Easy to clean. Warm and waterproof

Forgot this was meant to be proper leather shoes
-

Worth it?
Time will tell I guess! It’s quite an outlay for a leather boot which I believe can’t be resoled so I’ll reserve judgement until I can see what six months of sole wear looks like. They’re definitely well finished and comfy.

Tbf if you’re wanting a proper leather boot to work on the allotment then it’s mainly for posing. They get so much muck and abuse that a nice leather boot for allotment use is pretty pointless. The one you posted will do much better.

I’ve just had the same monologue in my head. These look perfect.
Leather for show land boots for the pro…allotmenter

I really wish companies like this were more up front about country of origin. I couldn’t find anything that stated where they were made, which for a lot of boot people is important. Whereas Grant Stone embraces the fact that their shoes are expertly made in China, these guys seem to be hiding it? The only way I found out that they’re - I assume - made in China - is by doing a domain lookup and finding that they’re based in China.
This is not a dig - some of those boots look great - but just embrace being Chinese instead of hiding it ya know?
Hah- I have now been living in Singapore since 2023 and have worn Birkenstocks for 99% of the time, which has I suspect given me “Covid foot”.
