Day one in 17t. The skids are skidding and I keep spinning out on flat. I kept telling myself spin to win to accelerate and get the hell from point a to point b. I didn’t expect it to be that big of a difference. I kinda miss the resistance of 16/15t but I love it all the same. Good thing it’s double fixed and I have a 16t on the other side.

Everyone is different, you might prefer grinding over spinning... I only started to turn smaller gears after learning how to stay seated for longer. I stand on the pedals to use my weight to help generate power to turn the pedals and distribute the load on different muscles. The penalty for this is less efficiency in aerodynamics. The loss off efficiency will require you to use more power to maintain the same speed.
Yeah, I'm currently waiting to hear back from Cinelli-Milano online store to get the replacement part due to its rare sizing. I'm thinking of doing a modification to the seat cluster configuration to a classic fastback style like my Njs Bomber in-order to convert to a seat pin binder bolt. I was offered a few options while the Vigorelli is down from my son who has since had to end his commute to work by bike. I have yet to contact a builder about the transformation but seeing the willingness of my son to help me out brings warmth to my heart so it will start to take priority over looking for a seatpost collar.
17 tooth cogs are the biz for skid patches and will prolong the life of your tires. Dolan is looking good as per usual and it's good to hear your recovery went well. Stay safe
