Very easy 2 under today.
So yesterday, I just wasn’t familiar with “skinning one’s knee”, although saying it now sounds obvious!

Funny how certain sayings do or don't become sufficiently universal to, eg, allow inclusion in a crossword clue or dropping into conversation with the reasonable expectations that their meaning will be discerned. "Going out and skinning your knee(s)" certainly stood as an expression for reaching the age at which one can play out with friends and get into minor scrapes and accidents, at least in my West Midlands 1970s-80s upbringing.

empty folder and you're left with the letters?
convert 1000 from binary to decimal (the number system we use when talking to people - i've had to rewrite this 3 times so @mashton doesn't say "well, actually the most common, most frequently used system isasdasdsad")
put them together -
• #1349
Still nope.

• #1350
Empty the word folder and you're left with fr
1000 is the binary representation of the number 8 = eight

Took the hint and got it.
