  • Pics of dbr kitchen plz

  • It was in here ages ago - I will try and dig out a link

  • Yep

  • Doing a fun kitchen for a pro Hackney chef next year.

Also Japanese cocktail / hifi bar in Jan. Maybe I’ll invite the whole forum for a shandy

  • I mean yours is exceptionally good though. But as a general point there seems to be an inflection point with high end kitchens where I don't think they look very good. Probably a subjective taste thing but these sorts of things:

That said the few that I've been in irl do all feel great to use with there smart little storage tricks.

These tambour cupboards in a different configuration would be great:

  • My next kitchen would be a @dbr one if I got the chance.

    Hivemind a question for you.

Could we add drawers to these cupboards? (The we here means someone, this is not the DIY thread)

  • There’s a story behind why it is like this and not drawers or something else. But here we are.

  • Yes for sure you could. What the finished result looks like would depend on options.

  • The actual drawer part is easy enough if it's a standard size, the carcass is generally the same for shelves or drawers.

Difficulty may be in getting matching fronts if they're custom or no longer sold.

It is very diyable if it's all just standard stuff.

    I respect this approach

  • I’d keep the cupboard door and just have pull out drawers inside

  • This. Easy enough to attach sliders to existing shelf, build a fence to keep stuff from falling off.

  • Are they ikea boxes? If so, it’s just a couple of utrusta hinges and maximera drawers.

    Takes 10 mins to sort

  • I wonder if it’s possible to have that front cut into 3 and the other handles milled?

  • You might need a bit of careful measuring to make sure the drawers don't foul on the edge of the door. Probably ok but a chance of being annoying.

  • This looks like a giant VW camper kitchen

  • There are Blum / IKEA drawer systems designed to hide behind cupboard doors. Look for larder drawers. If the cabinet drilling is standard they will fit in very easily.

  • Bitd I used the Elfa storage system to maximise storage volume in standard kitchen cabinets, including plinths.

  • Has anyone got a shower head with a filter built in? My partner hates washing her hair at home in London and reckons it's because the water is so hard.

Do they work? Are they worth it? If so, what do we go for? We're renting and not sure how long we'll be in our current place so can't do anything more involved than changing the head.

  • As others said, get the maximera ones. They do specific ones/fronts for inside drawers/cupboards. Easy enough to DIY too, but #buyers will be #buyers

  • I think they’re all much of a muchness. I haven’t used one but the filter things in the same way as a brita so probably would make a bit of a difference

  • Thanks! I reckon we'll give it a punt.

  • Surely the flow rate of a typical shower would require a filter physically too big to fit into any kind of shower head, for it to actually do anything? I’d be skeptical.
