Sure is an odd mix of old and new (ish) frame features. Forks don't match and doubt if the decals are correct. I don't recognise it as a Condor from my era

Mercian made frames with extended lugs but nothing Mercian springs to mind.

Seller offer a tenner discount on asking price, despite that dent on down tube - an inch or so below where decals start. Apart from that it looks in great condition

I’m pretty sure I saw a green Condor on Facebook a few years ago with these lugs, possible a variation on the Capella designs that Carlton and Raleigh used.
The fancy lugs on the Condor site link were designed by Bill Hurlow. 👌

Another one for the completist, and it may well give pleasure to some one.

But you would have thought that a professional trader, asking a thousand pounds, would have taken better photos. Apart from the poor focussing, surely it would have been better to put the (anachronistic) saddle up so that it's higher than the bars - it certainly doesn't look 'gen' as it is. Perhaps the seat pin is stuck?

Also the front wheel is visibly off centre in the forks: is it buckled, are the forks bent, or is the wheel just badly fitted?

I suppose the design isn't weird if you think the most important feature of frame design is to have a very short wheel base. I wouldn't agree with this theory.

My 18-stone mate has been riding a Flying Gate for years and finds them extra strong as well as extra ugly. More triangles than a GT.

Golden Age Cycles never take a good photo and tend not to focus on presentation.

Photo to follow, but would anyone have use for a 1937 Raleigh Sports frameset? Total pig iron and long past original (powder coated black some years ago). 21 inch frame so way too small for me but if someone fancies a base for a path racer ish project would be happy to pass it on for free. Will grab some photos soon but it's sat for the best part of 10 years
