I didn't yet, been on a few work trips lately and not had time but it's also not been sold yet so I'm still keen. Also toying with the idea of a S124 but not sure if it would be a ballache to daily a classic (tricky to make insurance work out in Ireland).
This one is for sale locally with C36 running gear... -

Mk6 Golf 1.4tsi seems to be using more oil as time goes on.
Is this just the way OF small turboed VAG's? (it's using much less than some of the other horror stories you get online). But just want to be sure it's not indicative of anything else.
There is what looks like oil debris around what I think is the turbo.
Also is there a good safe way to seal a small oil bottle? Our oil is from a big multi litre bottle, so wondering about decanting some into an oil small bottle for emergencies over Xmas.

Decanting the oil will be fine.

That merc looks great... C36 swap, great idea.

That is absolutely perfect. I love a '124 and I'd say they make for a great daily, very solid mechanically, just keep on top of rust-proofing. My 300TE 4matic had 200k on it and never let me down.

Crack on the inside of an alloy. Repairable?

This happened to me yesterday, got too close to a kerb with a big piece of metal sticking out of it. I will be contacting the council imminently.
Brand new tyre fucked. 😑💸
On the upside, I get to drive the STi today. 🎉

New car day yesterday. Bought it at night in the rain, so don't do what I did kids. Looking forward to seeing it in the daylight (hopefully).

Is the alloy rim something special? As costs of straightening then welding and machine work can be quite high. Compared to a replacement rim.

Ballsy move and an even more ballsy choice! Most excellent. I assume you’re gonna be replaying a lot of M539 videos for the perfect E60

Got too close??
You mounted the fucking thing 😅

First diesel and BMW for me but did the 100+ miles home without any issues. Had Classic FM on, feeling every bit the high flying businessman from 2010.
I mean this in the nicest way, but it drove like a taxi. Reminded me of an airport transfer in Europe where the roads are smooth, the car is normally German and inside it's roomy with that muted sound of decent build quality. Didn't go on many B roads, but felt surprisingly composed when driving briskly.

Hot girls hit kerbs, babes. 💅

Repairable, but needs to be done properly - stop drilled and welded.
I got one done a couple of years ago it was about £50
Alternatively finding a single rim from a breaker might be a good option, depending how common they are

Haha went for the msport. Hard not too! Looks great.

Thought that might make you laugh. With big wheels and rubber band tyres it rides surprisingly well. New front springs and airbags at the rear probably help. Never had a car this nice so will enjoy doing a few small bits to it. And washing it every week this time of year.

Mine wasn't getting up to temp, there's a common fault with a part. I can't remember, but it's worth lookin up and checking out.

Noted, thanks.

Tyre choice- 8x18 front and 9.5x18 rear. Which Michelin’s to go for? Bonus points for being N rated but I’m not sure I care that much about that.

For general road use? Surely PS5
-
• #81272
225 front and 265 rear?

Sounds about right

Surely PS5
Just this week put some on my car - seems pretty good from what I can tell.
I put N rated Michellins (PS2?) on my 996. They were way more expensive than equivalents, wouldn't bother (with N rated) next time.

Entertainingly it’s the Porsche forum that immediately deletes any comment that is not 100% aligned with bat-shit right wing ideology. Going to be interesting to post something revolutionary such as “Brexit appears not to have been brilliantly executed” post OSA and then file a report with Ofcom if the post gets nuked.
Seem to keep looking at ads for cheap mini and BMW prince engined cars.
There is a cheap mini near me with the bcm failure, (no indicators and electric window issues) and the rough tickover that could be the rocker cover...
