I can try to factcheck for you, but I'm not sure people linking gender neutral pronouns to lack of freedom of speech are open to facts and I can't find anything in Dutch either...

Sounds similar to Jordan Peterson claiming someone in Canada went to jail for misgendering someone but that didn't actually happen so... 🤔

This was what I assumed. I think I may ask them to prove their assertion but it’s more than likely utter bullshit.

First find out if that's actually the law in the Netherlands. If not, no need to search for any specific cases.

I sometimes suspect some culture war types are worried about being ostracized for saying the wrong thing.

If it's that type of person, some gentle conversation might reassure them?
