  • Are there any scents you're into?

Barrister and Mann/Noble Otter/Zingari Man still my favourites

  • I guess in a sandalwood kind of guy, maybe.
But this is my favourite. And I don’t care.

  • I used to use a BodyShop one. Now use Edwin Jagger.

The BodyShop one was so much better.

  • Maybe give Barrbarr a go? It’s one of mine on rotation

I think you can get sample soaps on Blades and Whiskers, IIRC they also sell Stirling soaps which are very popular

  • Barrbarr sounds good, but I’ve just seen Barrister and Mann do one called Midnight Special and it sounds right up my alley. Thank you.

  • How to see if I can find my mug…

  • Liz said last night that I look like a Planet of the Apes version of Capt Birdseye

    ooof

  • Cream chat, I just got some Cremo Palo Santo Concentrated Shave Cream. Have been using standard Palmolive with a brush and mug for ages. What a difference with this cream, silky smooth! Very very impressed. Worth the difference in price.

  • I’m looking for a recommendation for an electric shaver. For head and face. Also the user has alzheimers. There’s a reasonable Remington head shaver on line but not sure it’s suitable for face too. Rx7

  • For face I use a Philips model that is pretty bulletproof and very hard to cut yourself. Should work on head as the rotary design is used on head shavers too.

  • I've recently had to up my shaving frequency from about every 5 days to every other day. I snagged a job lot of double edge razors on eBay and I'm trying them out against my standard razor, which is an Edwin Jagger DE89. I'm currently trying out a Muhle R41 which is substantially more aggressive and more tricky to keep at an angle that feels comfortable and safe.

(I'll likely be selling on several of these after I've tried them out).

  • (I'll likely be selling on several of these after I've cut myself to ribbons).

    FTFY

  • Ha! I think the Muhle is one of the more aggressive ones and it was fine with a bit of care. The question is whether being more aggressive makes it any more effective or nicer to use.
