I'm the halfway house. Mine charges off the mains and then is cordless so I can take it to the bathroom to shave and eat my chi- pork sandwich at the same time.

Another Wahl user here for > 20 years.

Still using the Wahl I bought in late 90's, but currently visiting barbers to make the least worst of my remaining hair whilst I still have some.

Mine too. They also have a semi-successful thing for catching the cuttings.

Self bald head shaver for 20+ years. Lithium ion is a must for longer cutting times and shorter charge times. Most annoying thing for me is getting the bits around and behind my ears as I wear glasses and have to take them off for those bits. Quick check with ms_com afterwards is usually enough. Don't cheap out too much as you want a set that allow you to take apart and clean the blades. Often what seems like blunted blades are just gummed with with tiny clippings. Clean and oil fairly regularly but not necessary after each cut. I do mine in the bath/shower, in the buff. Makes clean up of the area and myself easier. Plus, you can attend to any other grooming you need at the same time. Just gather up as many of the clippings as I can by hand when I'm done and chuck those in the toilet then shower the rest off. I have to deal with any blockages in the house anyway so I'm not too worried about what goes down the drain.

I just got a set of babyliss pro super motor jobbies as my last set had worn to the point that no amount of cleaning or resetting stopped them leaving lines. And I got annoyed as at the last trim, mini_com was hammering on the door saying she needed a poo and refused to use the other toilet. So I rushed to finish, missed a load of bits, and then mini_com decided she didn't need a poo after all.

Not sure about chucking them in the toilet. Ours struggles to empty water and piss as it is. Bin for mine.

But my cordless SS2L is 240v, isn't everything? I'm confuzzled, or maybe just old. I forget.
