  • My Surly has flat pedals because I ride midfoot position, so my already large feet stick out further than most. On the Surly I might get away with a full length front mudguard but I've never bothered with them because they interfere too much. I guess I could try the one my partner is trying to install (that I need mounts for) and if it's not too much of an ass I could buy another set for the Surly. Mostly it's the face spray that's annoying without a front guard but I'm used to being covered in shite on my rides.

    Can't relate. The c. two weeks I spent without a front guard on my Stayer were enough for me, full guards and flaps on everything!!!
