• I have high hopes for the bottom middle pack. MAMA are generally good ime and I've not had the best experience with their "creamy" Tom yum noodles in the pot or the packet. I'm hoping this stir fry version is better.

  • Not bad. Needs stuff added to it for sure.

  • Very good base for adding stuff to. Alright by itself but really wants beefing up.

  • Plastic cheese. How am I finding the good ones and avoiding the shit ones. Is there a good brand or shop for these?

  • I'm loving this baby clam pack. Only thing I added was half a bulb of fried onion . Didn't make the soup they recommended though. Just stir fried it since it comes with an oily sauce pack.
It's pretty spicy. If you like seafood noodle packs, this one is highly recommended.

  • I'm trying the OK Carbonara Bacon packs next. Really want to know where to get the good plastic cheese. @ric_a5 @Stonehedge ?

  • Is it possible to get get good plastic cheese? I just use whatever the supermarket own brand offer is haha.

  • Anyone found good instant noodles with minimal E-numbers?

  • This one doesn't look too bad

  • Also looks tasty.

I count 3 e-numbers, which is actually not bad!

  • On holiday and I’ve been vetoed from going to this place tonight.

  • There's a valuable lesson there. If you don't ask, they can't say no.

  • I found Buldak 2x spicy and Shin Ramen in a local Indian supermarket last week, so tried the Buldak last night. I liked the flavour but it was borderline too spicy for me even with a little bit of PB added, so think I will look for the normal spicy next time.

I had the noodles with stir fried veg and gyoza. You can fry Itsu gyoza straight from the freezer - they were a good easy-ish option to have on hand.

  • casually hooked on Damae noodles.
Sesame is elite, Spicy and Chicken are next, Beef is meh, Pork is OK but repeats on me.

  • Dinner time

  • Self-heating?
    This is another level.

  • Nothing special but definitely spicy!
Better than BB Indomie/Koka/Demae but not Buldak levels

  • All you need is some cold water. Comes with massive beef chunks which come out of the pack looking like cat food - pretty off putting actually but I have 10 mins for the package to do its magic. Its making bubbly noises 🤔

I'll report back if I'm brave enough to actually eat it

  • Aw hell nah, the meat in this one isn't for me. Other than that the veg pack is pretty good (some kind of cabbage and slimy mushroom on top of the usual corn and carrot)
The flavour is a bit bland but that's much better than the super salty cheap beef noodles. Not going to buy again, might look out for a veggie option in future.

  • If you're into soft fatty beef then it's probably great

  • Ottogi Jin ramen spotted in Sainsbury's

  • Not familiar with this one. Talk to me about why I should buy it!

  • Interesting take on making the closest thing to genuine ramen in as short a time as possible. I think you'd need to have a fairly good local supermarket to find all the relevant ingredients, but it does look tasty:
