Hmm ye something like that, my lack of visual imagination is hindering me understanding if they would work with the mounts coming off the rack at that angle. I'm leading towards that specific one not working but ye definitely along those lines.
Actually just browsed SJS and they have just the little connector bits so I'll give them a go and see if they work, thanks!

What's a cost-effective lowrider-style rack that attaches to mid-fork mounts and can bear a decent amount of weight in panniers? Thinking of going light tandem touring (i.e. cycle to a campsite somewhere) and have acquired two 20l panniers for the rear and also have two 16l panniers for the front we plan on using, but have no idea what to get.

Think it's Nitto / daruma hardware

There are a couple of options from tubus. Depending whether you just have mounts on the outside of your fork blades, or inside and outside/barrel style mount. Tubus is quite expensive but very solid and comes up on ebay now and again.

Narrator's underwhelming delivery really makes this.
- Needs a new front rack to replace his current Pelago
- Buys a bending tool
- Completely takes the bending tool apart and modifies the tool, twice
- Has a new rack.

I really hope he is related to Art Vandelay.

Does anyone have any bright ideas or pointers on how to have a quick release mount for a standard light on to a Pelago commuter that wouldnโt foul a pannier if I tried to attach?
Current thinking is to use a p-clip with a female garmin mount bolted on, and male garmin mount stuck to the back of the light. -

Nitto lamp holder 3 plus nitto lamp holder 6?

Posted a while ago asking about opinions on the Santa fixie 'Maria' front rack https://www.santafixie.co.uk/maria-front-rack-chrome.html
Have had this on my partner's bike for about a month now, and seems pretty goof for the price. Nice small footprint, attaches via fork eyelets or included P-clamps (no rubber on these so used a generous electrical tape wrap underneath). Pretty small but easily holds a small bag, U lock etc.Wanted to ask if anyone has experience of the Gorix front rack currently on Amazon? Looking for a front platform for my flat-bar gravel/ tourer thing and this looks just the right sort of size and spec...

Does anyone have any pictures/ experience of Pizza Rack with front Panniers? Torn between that and the Blackburn outpost for combo of front platform and panniers. Is the weight quite high on the Pizza rack?

I use specialized coolcave big plastic bin panniers on my pizza rack. Works fine. Weight is indeed a little high when they are fully loaded, but it works
If I was choosing now I would probably go pelago commuter + lowrider attachments

Yes, the weight is high by it works better on off road stuff where vegetation and rocks can catch on lowrider mounted panniers.
I think it's way better than the Blackburn outpost, it has a much bigger top platform. Also, the Blackburn is ridiculously wide, so the panniers stick out and makes the steering even heavier! -

I have ortlieb mini panniers and they really donโt fit nice on the pizza rack. I guess the distance between the clips at the top and the securing tabs is shorter than full size panniers and it takes a bit of effort to squeeze them in and they often pop out. Something to consider if you want to use mini panniers.

• #1292
Do you mean the lower rail? On my ortlieb gravel panniers I unscrewed the rail and flipped it over, it fits super securely. Also helps that they have two hooks instead of one

Thanks all, think that confirms what I'm thinking - Pizza rack is better as platform with ability to use panniers, but maybe not the best as a dedicated pannier solution. Might be leaving towards a lowrider with a separate platform rack. I should probably look at weight if goin down that route.

They do sit a bit high.

Yes I meant the lower rail.
Hmm interesting, thatโs a good idea. So that makes the position the tabs pivot on higher?
@Chaley Canโt see how you have it mounted to fork but you can use those little triangles with multiple holes in it to get the position different. Or any other bit of steel two holes in that gets it to sit lower.

Sorry I meant the bags sit high. The rack only just clears the tyre.

Thanks for input to all of the above. I hastily bid on a pizza rack on Ebay and fitted it today.
Feels great and very sturdy. Can't help thinking it sits very high on the fork, and worrying about high up weight. Will be using this bike as a tourer next year so will likely have weight on the platform and front panniers as well as on the rear rack.
Would it be really silly to try mounting it in the eyelets above the dropouts and flipping/ modifying a bracket to connect A) to the fork crown as normal or B) to the mid-fork dropouts via some bodged mount?
Am I overthinking it/ crazy/ hoping for the wrong results from this rack?
Should I just get a Blackburn Outpost/ Surly Nice rack/ something actually meant for what I want
Excuse the sloppy photoshop...
EDIT: Drunk brain didn't realise the rack top would sit in the middle of my tyre - please laugh at me

You could run a bit of flat strapping bar between the mid and lower mount, drill a hole and bolt the triangle mount to it. Then use another bit bent as the top crown mount. Just donโt go too low :))
-
• #1299
This is the kind of answer I wanted!! Will tell Surly to put even more mounts on their forks...

Also, those Carradice panniers go so nicely with your pink MS!
Does anyone know what this kind of clamping nut/washer system is called? Or seen anywhere selling that setup? I just want to use some struts that I can adjust the length of and a rack platform I already have.
