You'll be fine

It's in Germany and a newly built house, with the architects acting as developers, so it probably passed ALL THE REGULATIONS.
Think there is a second door to the garden just before.
It's not really my thing, but I quite liked the slim windows.

Thanks! Plumber was in today which made a huge difference to progress. Can finally use the loo without having to chuck a bucket of water down.
Glad we went with beige grout. Got an oak veneered MR MDF panel to go on the bath and make a cupboard door out of. The velux is new.
@Skinny - nice, we were going to get the same bath taps but they were pricey! Stainless steel right?

Immediately outside will be a patio, long term possibly one that's covered by a pergola with wisteria on it as a bit of screening/summer shade. The garden is west facing and people with similar setups have suggested they can get quite warm in summer.
Where the compass is will be a seating area, probably with a chair or sofa against the wall with the non-opening window in it.

Yeah crosswater. Mega bucks (for me), but I plan to die in this house so seemed a worth investment. Plus I didn't want to be having to do open tile surgery in a few years to change a cheaper unit buried in the wall.
There was a crosswater bath unit that had separate taps rather than in a rectangle. But the rectangle was about 1k cheaper!
Your room looks lovely!

Yeah they're nice. We were going to have deck mounted crosswater taps that matched the basin taps however builder said they wouldnt risk drilling the steel bath so gone for some generic stainless steel wall mounted - still not cheap!
Just cut the bath panel to size, now need to work out what to do with the cupboard..

Your bathroom looks great; functional and calming. Oak panels are a good match for the earthy tiles.

Finally got round to painting the front door; still needs a few more coats. Ended up going for ‘Dysentery Green’.

slide and turn doors.
It'll be nice to be able to open it all out when the weather is nice.

What kind of tradesperson do I need to cut an opening in a concrete block garden wall, to install a gate? Is that something a fencing person would be able to do?
-
• #11794
Very likely, as they'll be used to working alongside/probably doing exactly that to existing walls. Or a carpenter who could hang the gate would definitely be able to use a large petrol or mains disc cutter to make the opening.

Couple of months living here now, still melts my brain when coming downstairs in the morning, full imposter syndrome.
Still mountains of snagging to do, cascades of boxes to unpack, sprog shit clogging everywhere. Really nice watching the light morph through the seasons, not freaking out about monster energy bills now the cold’s setting in, being able to fit more than 3 people in the kitchen.
Need more content up in here tho still; @Sparky how’s yours coming along? @Tenderloin have you had pro photos done? @dbr how’s the garden looking?

Picking sycamore leaves off crushed brick, struggle is real.
Just laid a cheating green roof. Looking forward to watching the various sedum flowers out the bathroom window

Does anyone have any good home alarm recommendations? Our neighbours had their front door forced in a few days back whilst out on the school run, and my partner is pretty spooked.
I had been looking at a Google nest doorbell as a visual deterrent, along with it's smartphone integration, but not sure if it fully cuts it or even would be a deterrent. In reality, I think we'd need a front door sensor (potentially with anti-vibration measure although my son jams his bike against the door so unsure on that), and with 2-3 room sensors.
Aware of the obvs ADT/Banham and the like but wondering if there is a smarter/more modern system. Thanks!

Did you do any load calcs for the sedum?
Is that a Porotherm block in your garden?
-
• #11799
From a deterrent perspective get an alarm box with a flashing light and screw it to the front of the house.

I’ve got the google ones because we have nest and it played nice with that.
I always just found the security company options to be overkill and another monthly expense so didn’t bother
Looks lovely, but surely that (single?) door can't pass regs?
