James Hoffman as ever has a good recipie i find. Think it’s 60-70g/l depending on your coffee (or a bit heavier than you might make an Aeropress for example). Let steep then swirl but don’t plunge. Leave the metal filter at the top when pouring but with the swirl and wait most of the grounds should have fallen and gives a cleaner less gritty cup

What are you doing sitting around the house? You should be out spending £1000 on food and drink

I’m sad you didn’t take a clever dripped or something similar.
Taking my spb to Wales made each morning tolerable.

Sounds good, thanks!

I'm surprised at how (relatively) inexpensive it is here. It's pricier than London but not by loads. Not on the same level as places like Sweden.

Selling my 1Zpresso JX Pro - been a very reliable coffee making companion since the first lockdown. I only used it for espresso, which it does very well, but would probably make an even better grinder for anything that calls for a coarser grind.
Had wondered whether I wanted to keep it as alternative/backup but in truth it hasn't seen any action sine the DF54 arrived so time has come to say goodbye.
How does £90 sound? Collection in either Crouch End or Trafalgar Square area, or somewhere in between on my commute. Could post at cost, too, if no local interest.

I'm using it with an IMS 53mm 16-18g basket, B62.52TH26E. Works well. It's definitely not air-tight but a much closer fit than the stock Sage tamper.

Not having trawled through this section for a while so if this has been mentioned before, apologies.
In a recent flat we rented, they had a Swan electric espresso machine (sk22110) . I used my aero press on the first day as I couldn't be arsed seeing how it worked only to find myself disappointed. However, curiosity of mine and my 5yo made me get it down off the shelf and give it a go.
Fuck me was I surprised! Lovely espresso with beautiful crema. I then read some reviews and yeah, ok, it was a bit weak so I packed in the the grounds and had another go. Better , in fact, really good. So good I just wanted a 3rd instantly. I use a Mochamaster as my daily machine and a Mocha pot at weekends, this espresso might make me buy one though.
I see it's a machine branded as many other makes, including Aldi so may look for a nicer looking model as the vintage retro art-deco shit ain't me.

Bonkers if true

Just to make sure I don't fall foul of forum rules (even though it wasn't an all-out FS thread/advert), I have now put the above 1Zpresso grinder for sale on another forum.

Seems like James Hoffman/square mile are branching out. Square mile collab with cocoa runners, get your speciality coffee and craft chocolate in one package https://www.instagram.com/reel/DB9NPIjMD8y/?igsh=MTZ1a3d5MDh6c3UzZA==
Never heard of cocoa runners, never tried square mile coffee beans. But I do like chocolate and coffee…

I’ve clean the machine, not my best, but it’s working a lot better for it.

Extra points for the chipboard 👌🏽

That's nice. Exactly what I have been told I can't try to replicate in our kitchen!

Haha cafe style but it's actually it's just to hide that when changing the height of the shelves I pulled lots of the wallpaper and plaster off the wall. Had lots of leftover osb bits in the shed

No I just took it to bits and sat it in descaler.

Nice setup, where are those cups from?

Super impressed with the near-instant heat up time, and overall steaming time on the Bambino Plus. Been using auto steamer for a couple of weeks and went manual today and super impressed for what it is.

i'll be buying one soon. Is the white one hard to clean/does it get mucky?

I'm away for the weekend and didn't bring any coffee gubbins with me. The place we're staying has a cafetiere, which really isn't my preferred way to make coffee (I find it tastes a bit thin and nothing). What's a decent go to method? I think @Stevethecoffee mentioned one recently but I can't seem to find it!
