I played in 11 aside cup game yesterday. Fuck it was so tough. Ain't played 11 for nearly 12 years. Having played 6 a side regular I just felt lost didn't know where to stand keeping formation etc. the pitch felt fucking massive. Dispite all that I enjoyed it so much and the vets team I played for were on the right side of competitive and enjoying the game.
I stopped playing sat and Sunday league because of all the agro and people taking it far to seriously. Yesterday reinstalled my faith in grass roots football ⚽.

I have no regular game any more but have had an email occasional 9-a-side on big pitch. Enjoyed but once you stop playing regular it hurts all the more

I had to stop my weekly 6 a side after 10 years. My knees were ruined. I barely recovered by the time the next game came round.

Still playing 5-a-side twice a week, been playing 25 years (up to 4 games a week some times, and a season or two of 11-a-side), knees still fine.

I need to get back into 11 a side.

I was looking at our local vets' league but then I found out that Matty Taylor (324 Premier League appearances) is a key player in one of the sides. Might not quite be my level.
