  • Neither of them is really a looker are they?

  • There may be a daylight saving (DST) setting.
I have yet to own a GW5600 so no direct experience

  • 5520

FFS, that's even worse than a Graham Chronofighter. He needs to reset his taste buds and start again. Go round to his place and burn it down.

  • I probably won't do that

  • Back from more deskless desk diving. I think this is the only one I will wear underwater now. Hits all the functionality I need as a backup time piece for my dive computer - super easy to read at a glance and easy to set the start before descending. The salt water patina just gets better and better.

Bonus underwater pics taken by my new AOW qualified son.

  • I would say no, its too shiny and there is too much going on imo

  • Wow that Moray is curious.

Apparently that Diving Bird Valerie Taylor built a lifelong relationship with one off Aus.

  • a lifelong relationship

    ”That’s amore….”

  • Immense. 👌

  • This is, I think, an excellent perspective. Thanks dude

  • I'm gonna b a devils avocado on this one.

I think that might be the nicest Panerai I have seen.

If they hold their value and you have the resources why not enjoy it for a while.

    Magpies gonna Magpie no?

Whatever you do don't replace with a frikin Seiko.

  • It's a honeycomb moray. Not the biggest one I have seen but they are quite common on that part of the Persian Gulf. It was 1.6m and about as big around as my calf. We have seen ones that are 2.5m.

The devil ray passed about an arms length away from me. That thing was the size of a 90s home satellite dish. I was looking at a tiny crab in some coral and looked up to see that cruising right in front of me. Not a dangerous creature, but really, really, really unexpected. Scared the bejeebus out of me. Thankfully the wet suit retained most of the beejeebus.

  • 👌

  • So happy I sold that to you! It was just way too big to even wear for me

  • I am grateful. It has been an excellent purchase for me. Thanks Ed. Hope you are good.

  • Thank you! Seems that because I hadn't worn it last week it hadn't updated. As DST was on auto and I wore it last night it had updated when I woke up this morning

  • It's quite a well known historical style for pilots' watches from the very earliest days of flying (notably by Zenith), but one of the most famous examples of it is this IWC style from the 1930s which I think is what Patek were imitating:

  • Why would they use a Volkswagen group corporate typeface from the 1970s

  • Yeah I see where your coming from, the PP pulls it off, the Bremont does not

  • Erm,, just about where the watch is
kinda got a VW written on it

  • Wearing my 1960 Smiths auto out and about yesterday. This is one of my favourites…

  • Lovely! Brilliant connection between the triangular hour markers and the angular shapes in the hands
