I disagree, not tenuous at all.

I think it is a really nice, totally logical clue. Which I expect hangedup just spoiled, inadvertantly.

It is one of those clues where you have to split the reading in an unlikely place, to divine the distinction between definition and word play.

In this case, I love how hidden that split point is. It makes the clue loads better IMO.

I also really enjoy how coherent the surface reading of the clue is. It's a sentence that could be uttered in an ordinary meeting without note or comment.

It's a contender for my fave ever minute cryptic clue.

EDIT - looks like the spoiler thing ruins the formatting. It looks fine in the preview pane. I will raise a bug.

Yeah sorry if anyone just saw me post the answer. Had it all in my head and forgot which was the clue and which was the answer.

I liked the clue too, it was neat

Two under, found it quite straight-forward with the more obvious wordplay making the definition obvious.

Go back to it in a bit. There are no new rules that you don't know already and once you get the big bit of the clue, the other bit falls into place.
