Not really adult but I get to play with them too. Converted an IKEA Latt table into a little playing surface for my daughter’s growing collection of princess lego.
Lay one 48x48 baseplate then cut up another to make it 58x75. A snug fit with around 510 2x4 tiles and some 2x4 modified with studs so the structures and figures can stay put.
All in, about £75 of baseplate and tile.

This arrived today, I'm farting with excitement at the thought of building it to be honest.
I bought one of the AliExpress MOC versions a few years ago but it just wasn't the same...there was no shark coming out of the water.😁
