  • Nice!

What's the hob splashback made from?

  • Same as we had installed. It’s great as it hides the finger marks and a multitude of sins

  • It's a varnished glass.

  • That hob installation is very clean

  • This is the HHSB of kitchens! I believe the term used there is 'murdered out'. Looks great.

  • Love this.

Are you doing anything for splashbacks?

  • also, is that a neff hob? Think I have the same one, or very similar model. I really like the control knob - a perfect combination of tactile/practical to use and easy to clean (once it's removed)

  • Yeah, the magnetic control knob? I was very surprised at the haptic feedback, really feels like a proper knob!

  • Flush induction hob is great. Kitchen looks lush

  • Concrete floor has had 3 coats of sealant and buffed to a satin finish. Pretty pleased with it. Now need to decide on pendants. Thinking Glo balls.

Has anyone seen/bought the knock off ones:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126105456871?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=k_IU9zwFTDq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=WGI8wVNoR1i&var=427091879102&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

They look pretty similar for a much cheaper price.

  • I now have hob envy, and I haven't even used mine yet. I didn't even realise that was possible. Very nice.

  • As soon as I knew that it was being done I wanted it. I love gas hobs but I hate cleaning the fuckers and with the way induction hobs are usually installed, crumbs and bits always seem to get under the edges.

In the show room the silicon round the edges of the ones they had were a bit chunky but the installers did a great job, there's no more than a couple of mm on ours and the silicon blends in perfectly. Really happy.

  • i asked my guys when we were planning my kitchen if the hob could be installed flush like yours and they said it couldn't done >:(

  • they said it couldn't done by them

Tbf there's zero margin for error or you'll fuck up the worktop so I'm not surprised that it isn't offered by everyone.

  • The thing is what seals it? Is the granite CNC’d below the worktop line so the hob can be sealed against it?

Surely everything could just run down the inside of it at the sides?

  • It's siliconed around the edges, nothing is slipping down. Like I said up thread I'd seen some examples where the silicone was quite thick which whilst not bad definitely cheapened the look a bit (although I'd still prefere thawt to having it raised) . There is literally 2mm of silicone around the edges, you don't even notice it unless you're putting your face in it.

I've tried to take a picture close up but my phone is fucked so I can only use my front camera.

  • gotta have a flush fit hob - @dbr has a nice one too

  • his hob isn't bad either :/

  • We're thinking about knocking a wall out in our Victorian terrace in SE15; anyone over this way have a builder they would recommend?

  • Cheeky

  • Now I’m just really pissed I didn’t get ours done like that. Every worktop cut-out was so fucking precise I’m sure they’d have had no issue

  • Fuck it, I’m going to have a flip-flop purple / gold induction hob flush inset into a polished section of widmanstätten meteorite.

  • Those look so good I want to redo my counter top.

  • respectfully requesting the last 2 pages be purged from forum record. I don't wanna feel bad about my new kitchen :(
