Is this bike still going?

It is indeed.
In fact I just replaced the BB this weekend and blistered my hands to blood installing a pair of esi grips.
Added a photo of the remains of the BB bearings...

My favourite ever forum bike! Glad it's still serving you well. Love the ESI grips, considering trying some of their bartape when I need to renew.

I never had a problem fitting ESI grips, liberal coat of hairspray, slide em on, let it cure/evaporate, easy as.

Thanks!
Daily pre school run is a breeze on it.I somehow decided to forgo all advise and muscle the grips on. Half way through though, I consulted the card, they came with and started lubricating with isoprop alc.
That’s when I dicovered how badly blistered my palms were... -

I've become the kind of person who buys a complete new set of brakes when the pads are worn out.
Scrolling back a bit, I realized I haven't changed a single bit on the bike for last six years. Apart from chain and tyres when worn out.
I still use it every day when I'm not sick or wfh.
The youngest is also starting to enjoy the expensive bike life.

Cheers Thue.
Also, both current tyres and brakes are e-bike rated so I got that going. -

Looks like a perfect dadbike setup!

Totally. Single speed is challenging when out in the landscape. But the kid is very kind to wait for me on the hill tops.

Shortly after the above photo his front mudguard buckled between the tyre and fork crown when going down hill. The bike flipped but he managed to land on the feet.
