Their Japanese and made by Dia-Compe who are huge and there probably the best gear shifting thingys that you’d find…..their ENE range are amazing!

Product development costs I expect. They're pretty niche and not being sold by the million, so expensive to cover costs.
I'm pretty sure I saw a vid / blog that they don't actually make money on them (well only a bit), it's a passion comparability project.

Ye I wasn't suggesting they were mugging anyone off at all. I didn't actually properly know what it was, but now I do!

If you get the chance I'd recommend having a go with one, it really does feel délicieux

May have a mate interested, I'll PM
Sadly putting this up for sale. Best friction shifter in the business, shifts literally anything 8-12 speed. Lovely feeling ratchet inside for beautiful shifts.
Good condition, used for a few months, but no longer needed as not using friction any more.
They're mad pricey new (£160!), so say £95 including shipping.
Deets if interested: https://freshtripe.co.uk/dia-compe-ene-ciclo-uno-bar-end-shifter/
