I don't own a true power saddle but an ec90 knock off as well as a San Marco short fit. I generally ride them level but end up nose up due to slippage and the constant need to cinch down the seatpost bolts. I notice the metal rails to be less rigid then the carbon rails on the San Marco as well. They both have cut outs so my nuts feel well coupled but notice more fatigue from the carbon shell compared to the plastic shell with metal rails... Both work good

This felt like an incredibly long ad for a mid-sized family car.

Thanks. Guess I need to fuck around with it a bit more, oh and actually ride it outside, to get some idea of if the saddle is going to stay or not. I've got an old SLR and a few Adamo saddles here but I thought I'd give the stock one a go first to see if I got on with the newer, shorter designs. So far, I think I prefer longer saddles as I tend to either be relatively upright for climbing or aero tuck and the weird angles and shortness don't help that.

and the same specialized who refuse to put mudguard mounts on the crux 😡

Do you not have any bike fit data to help with setup, I know it sounds a lot but really does help to get things dialled in quicker etc.

I have my saddle pretty level, think it should be slightly down, if you have issues with hips/back to help release the pressure but then can more that to your hands..

Okay so think I will knock the other bike on the head for now. Which means I have Red AXS eTao 12 speed shifters and S900 calipers/discs for sale now if anyone is needing any for a built. Hoses are 145cm and 81cm ish

Proper, close fitting full mudguards are just asking for trouble on an offroad bike

You don't build the lightest gravel bike in the universe with mudguard mounts.

but a hole (to screw the mudguard bolts) in frame surely makes it lighter?

Yes and no. I've been riding split-nose Adamo saddles for 10+ years. I thought I'd just leave this one as is for a bit. So, the basic fit is fine but this bike has no aerobars, a "normal" saddle that I've never used and I've also got new shoes and my shoulder is in a new location just to really change things up. :)

They're usually threaded inserts and presumably have to be bonded in or something so that adds weight. Also ruins aero. Say no to mudguards.
It actually looks pretty clear now. Would be hilarious if I just rode it. It's not like undercarriage carnage hasn't plagued my long distance life already.

It takes a bit to get used to I'll admit. It's nice having a longer more conventional saddle to travel back and forth on as well. I've been a fan of flite saddles for a while and have no plans off selling any of them in my collection. I too am trying to get used to a saddle I bought on impulse earlier this year but haven't found the right angle/set back for comfort.

I ride power and it's level if you put a straight edge across the top.
I'm going to be switching over to an Aeolus post-fit which due to the greater curve up at the back, I have to tilt up a touch to avoid sliding onto my hands and wrists -

That is stunning. If I had enough cash, I would 100% have fast gravel bike like that as a 2nd gravel bike
