Thanks - they look perfect. Pricey but there’s a sale on some colours.

Check ebay. I've picked up some barely used edwins for less than £30

Dickies and Dockers are what I'd look at but a bit more pricey in the UK.

Thanks everyone!

All my casual trousers, jeans, cords and chinos come from the Hugo Boss Arkansas range. They fit perfect, resonable quality, higher rise and clear the thighs.
They aren't available anymore new, but ebay etc always have plenty secondhand. -

Yeah, agree, edwin probably got quite a few options that might fit the bill.

Gramicci are worth a look. Super hard wearing for dad stuff but (imo) look great with a roll and a bit of a cuff.
For a bit of a sharper look I still rate Universal Works highly.

I've had some chinos from Muji, roughly same price as Uniqlo but better quality I think.

We've gone about 10 posts and not mentioned blacksmith-store. Not apparel/trousers exclusively for chefs.....

Where to find a nice simple bomber jacket? Not shiny or leather and preferably without hooligan vibes?

Ordered a wool fleece universal works bomber for my nephew earlier.

Kind of disagree with the hard wearnigness. Just pulled these out of the pile of items to be patched up (again). Less than 1 year of average use. Similar story with Edwin. Don't expect either of these to have any longevity unless you're prepared to regularly repair.

What are you doing in them that does that?! Edwin’s looks cool

Very much not in the demin festish category, but hands down, without question, the best pair of dad's jeans are my Levis Cordura skateboarding jeans. I started using them when covid hit and I was at home more and they are my most used knocking about jeans.
5yrs on and the crotch is only now getting thin and there have been no rips or tears. In the meantime many other jeans have failed, but these have held strong despite abuse.

Agree on edwins. They wear quick, but on the other hand, they wear really nicely

Just wearing them with normal use! Disappointed with Grammici - can't imagine they'd have lasted long as climbers trousers.
Tbf the Edwins are pretty old now and I'm kind of happy to just keep patching but I wouldn't buy another pair.
For comparison at a similar price point these APC are about the same age with similar wear and have lasted much better. I'd buy over Edwin as seem to be easy to pick up discounted from RRP and much harder wearing.
I'd second whoever said M&S - chinos and cords bought 5+ years ago still going strong. Although you never know what current quality is like.

Oooft.
Certainly might not be too hardwearing down the saw mill but they can take the rough dad stuff*
*walking the lurcher to the local park, walking to the natural wine spot, the gelateria, and the pub. tbf are also decent for bouldering as you would expect.

I feel seen as apart from the Lurcher that's spot on 👀.
Even down to the fact I worked at a sawmill as a student holiday job in the very early 90s 😂

Can confirm I massively ripped some grammici by climbing in them

The vintage duck ones are good quality. Current line is just regular casual wearing chinos.
I’ve had some Kavu pants for more than 12 years now and they’re still in good shape. Would buy again.

Wants non hooligan bomber jacket so posts picture of a mobster hitman.

Carhartt wip?
I love my acne cotton one, but they got even more expensive. Almost 800€ is really not on.
Saying that, Carhartt wip is also not exactly bargainous.

That's the acne I have. Was one of those „need that, will wear forever" moments.

Ive got an APC that I like a lot. Now realised I should have packed it for this weekend away I'm on. :/
Not exactly cheap either.
@%~} Can vouch for Edwin's loose tapered being a nice comfy fit, the regular tapered are also pretty roomy as well compared to most other jeans.
