I was thinking about this again recently, and saw that MKS do two types of EZY removables, original EZY's that require the yellow circlip

And their new superior ones that don't and work by twisting and pushing down to lock/unlock the removable pedal

The two types are not compatible, and the urban compact I have fitted to my brompton isn't available in the superior style, so will be living without the yellow safety circle for a while yet..
