Wish my gramps were still around for this, he was a battery tech. Though probably very disinclined to answer technical questions between the 3+ naps he took during a day 😅
In practice having no standlight doesn’t suck as much as one might think, fwiw. I have the luxury of avoiding dark country lane junctions, though. That Is quite scary.

I might email Supernova and ask about it but unless they're like "oh yeah, we made a bunch of fucked lights, send it back to us" I'll probably just suck it up and run a rear blinky.
