They're like the MTB equivalent of a floaty turd in a pool. The only thing worse is probably Jones bikes, which are a runny turd in a pool.

The SSMTB is calling and my Pipedream Sirius is the ideal candidate.

I would just use a normal boost hub with spacers

Yeah probably sensible. Gusset make one for a bolt on cog, nice.

Is it still a SSMTB if it’s a rigid bike originally designed for drop bars but soooo much nicer with Jones bars…..
Much like @Mucker I’d rather like some 29er wheels on this, but budget demands probably rebuilding these hubs. Someone sell me some silver MTB rims please and thanks?
This Halo SS conversion kit works a treat on a Shimano freehub. 36-17 for now, which we’ll see about. Might be a tad undergeared for the rolling Warks trails.
