The rack is nice too.

I’m not getting on with the gearing on my 2 speed (54:16/12). Have a 50t ring on the way but that is going to make the high gear too spinny. Anyone know what speed cassette I can pinch a (14t) cog from, assuming it is just direct replacement on the current 2spd hub?

Good price, looks fucking terrible!

I think they nailed it aesthetics wise!
But what's going on with the weight and who's it actually aimed at?
Cost's not a surprise, that's just Brompton tax!
Having said all that I'll probably end up buying one anyway! -

8 speed IRRC.

Was eyeing the pedals up too. Next upgrade is removable pedal(s)

20" and disc brakes have opened this door now, to compare with other bikes
I wonder if this is why they held off for so long? More likely they cba when they were printing money, but the niche of a Brompton was always that nothing had that fold and packed so neatly to a small size. It's hard for me not to see it as a bit of a derivative of the classic car boot folder.

Mine’s a 10 year old S type 2 speed and this was true at the time:
The 13t from a 6 speed can be used instead of the 12t on a 2 speed if that helps. That lowers standard gearing to 69 inches.
For other sizes you'd need to dismantle a 9 spline Shimano cassette.I have no idea how I found that out. I didn’t change the chain set, just the cogs.

After initial excitement, I think I'm going to pass on the G-line. I have been on a few rides and really like it, however the size and weight overshadow the benefits. I looked at buying some fancy carbon bits but the weight savings wouldn't be significant.

Anyone worked out if G-line hubs and brakes are P-line compatible? Could you rebuild a set of G-line wheels?
Guessing not, but wondering. Probably more of a Kinetics job if I did ever want to go disc brake.

Has anyone here done an AliExpress rear triangle and fork upgrade to run 20" disc?

Recomendations for a mech to convery an M to a S, I'm in Brighton but work London if there's no one in the S.East. Might be upsold to changing the rear triangle and front forks to something ti. Had a query out with the Brompton man but didn't get a reply , reviews for Bike Fix in holborn seem quite mixed

I’ve got a pretty much brand new S with ti front and rear if interested? Probably easier than changing the stem fork and rear.

• #15994
I’m interested. Send me a DM with details and price?

• #15995
How many dollars would you need to build this roughly btw?

To my nind it looks like Brompton is going up market or at least up pricing their products, basic now £1k, Standard £1.5, G £3.5K Ti £5k.
I hope their are buyers out there and they find a market place for these more expensive models.

• #15997
G is 2.5k

I hope their are buyers out there
for as long as the cyclescheme exists - there will be at those prices. if cyclescheme was withdrawn it would completely nuke brompton sales in the uk

From a distance it doesn’t look that big, but up close it is not only massive but definitely very heavy…
